UNIT-II LINEAR AND ANGULAR MEASUREMENTS
 (Part B -16 Marks- questions) 

1.Explain  with   a  neat   sketch  how  a  Vernier  caliper is  used   for linearmeasurements.


2.Why  is  sine  bar  not  suitable  for measuring angles  above 45°? 

With     the     neat     sketch     explain     the    working    principle    of   an Autocollimator.


3.State   and  explain   the  uses   of Sine  Bar  and  Sine  Table  with   suitable sketches.    
                               
4.Explain  the  following with  neat   sketches.
 (i)  Differential  screw  micrometer.
(ii)  Thread   Micrometer.
'(iii)  Blade   type  micrometer.
(iv)  Micrometer  thread   Gauge.

5.Explain    the  working  principle  of Angle  Dekkar   with   a  neat   sketch.   Also write   the  applications  of Angle  Dekkar. 
                                  
6.Explain, with a neat sketch, the construction and working of a Tool Maker's Microscope.

7.What is the principle of Angle dekkor? How is it used for the measurement of angles?

8.Explain the use of an optical flat to test the flatness of measuring  surfaces.

9.How is a vernier height height gauge specified?Describe briefly the constructional requirements of different parts of vernier height gauge.

10.Describe a method of determining an absolute length of slip gauges using interferometer.
