Semester & Branch: I & ALL BRANCH

Subject Name          : ENGINEERING GRAPHICS

Subject Code          : GE 6152

1 (a). A regular pentagon of 30 mm side is resting on one of it’s edges on H.P, which is   inclined at 30º to H.P. It’s surface is inclined at 45º to VP. Draw its projections.

2. A circular lamina of 60 mm diameter is resting on VP on one of its circumference point such that the surface is 40º inclined to V.P. Draw the projections of the lamina if  the diagonal passing through the point on which it is resting is making 50º with H.P.

3.A pentagonal prism, side of base 25 mm side and axis 55 mm long, rests with one of its shorter edges on HP such that the base containing that edge makes an angle of 30° to HP and its axis is parallel to VP. Draw its projections.

4. A cylinder of base diameter 60 mm and height 80 mm is resting on HP in one of its generators with its axis inclined at 50° to VP. Draw its projections.

5.A hexagonal pyramid of base 25 mm and axis 60 mm long is freely suspended from a corner of the base. Draw the projections.

6.A cone of 50 mm diameter and 70 mm height rests on the ground on one of its base circle point such that the apex is 20 mm and the nearest base circle point is 50 mm infront of VP and the base is perpendicular to HP. Draw the projections.

7.Mark the projection of the following points on a common reference line, keeping the projectors 35mm apart.

i)   A, 35mm above HP and 25mm in front of VP

ii)  B, 40mm below HP and 15mm behind VP

iii) C, 50mm above HP and 25mm behind VP

iv) D, 45mm below HP and 25mm behind VP

v)  E, 30mm behind VP and on HP

8.Construct an involute of circle of diameter 30mm. Draw the tangent and normal to the curve

9.Draw the locus of a curve traced by a point, when the distance of the focus from the directrix is equal to 35mm and eccentricity is 1. Also draw the tangent and normal to the curve at any point on the curve.

10. A circle of 50mm diameter rolls along a line. A point on the circumference of the circle is in contact with the line in the beginning and the after one complete revolution. Draw the path traced by a point on the circumference of the circle. Also draw a tangent and normal to the generated curve.

12. The top view of a 75 mm long line AB measures 65 mm, while the length of its front view is 50 mm. It’s one end A is in the HP & 12 mm in front of VP. Draw the projections of the line & determine its inclinations with HP & VP.

13.A square lamina ABCD 40 mm side rests on one of its corner on ground. The plane is inclined at an angle of 30° to the ground and diagonal DB, in plan inclined at 45° to the VP and parallel to the HP. Draw its projections.

14. A regular pentagon of 30 mm side is resting on one of it’s edges on H.P, which is inclined at 30º to H.P. It’s surface is inclined at 45º to VP. Draw its projections.

15.   A cone of 50 mm diameter and 70 mm height rests on the ground on one of its base circle point such that the apex is 20 mm and the nearest base circle point is 50 mm in front of VP and the base is perpendicular to HP. Draw the projections.

16. A cylinder of base diameter 60 mm and height 80 mm is resting on HP in one of its generators with its axis inclined at 50° to VP. Draw its projections.

17. A hexagonal pyramid of base 25 mm and axis 60 mm long is freely suspended from a corner of the base. Draw the projections.

18. A pentagonal prism, side of base 25 mm side and axis 55 mm long, rests with one of its shorter edges on HP such that the base containing that edge makes an angle of 30° to HP and its axis is parallel to VP. Draw its projections
